WHY WINTERIZE YOUR SYSTEM?
Winterization or “blowouts” are crucial to maintaining your sprinkler system here in Idaho. A properly winterized sprinkler system will last longer and won’t be damaged by freezing and expanding water in your sprinklers, pipes, and backflow assemblies. Damage caused by improper winterization can cost thousands of dollars in repairs.
THE EQUIPMENT
The equipment I use to winterize your system is calibrated and maintained daily. The PSI used to winterize a sprinkler system should not exceed 50 PSI. At greater pressures above 50 PSI, damage such as broken gears in rotors, torn gaskets, and torn diaphragms can occur. I strictly run my machine at 50 PSI and 185 CFM. I am trained to safely and effectively winterize your system using the equipment that I use year after year so that you can trust that your winterization is done the right way, every time.
BACKFLOW WINTERIZATION & TESTING
If your system is supplied by city water or a well, you should have a backflow assembly. The backflow assembly prevents the stagnant and unsafe sprinkler system water from entering your clean water system. No one wants to drink sprinkler system water! I am professionally trained to winterize your backflow properly to prevent damage. I never run compressed air through backflow devices. Once I confirm that the water is drained from your backflow, I turn the shutoff valves and test ports 45 degrees to ensure that any water left won’t crack and damage your backflow.
Aussie Sprinkler & Backflow also maintains a license to professionally test your backflow assembly to ensure that it protects your system as it should be.
BACKFLOW TESTS ARE AN ADDITIONAL SERVICE THAT CAN BE ADDED TO ANY SPRINKLER SYSTEM WINTERIZATION OR SPRINKLER SYSTEM START-UP.
