WHAT IS A BACKFLOW?

Backflow is short for “Backflow Prevention Assembly”. The Backflow is a crucial piece of equipment for homeowners who have their sprinkler system supplied by city water or a well that also supplies their home. A Backflow Assembly prevents the contaminated water from our sprinkler systems from flowing backward into our drinking water system. If you don’t have a backflow, or your backflow isn’t functioning properly, you risk health issues from drinking potentially contaminated water.

EXPERT INSTALLATION

Contractors in Idaho aren’t required to be a certified backflow tester to install backflow assemblies. I highly recommend having a certified tester install your assembly as we are plagued by improper installations here in Idaho. I am proud to be a Certified Backflow Assembly Tester. In order to have this certification, I took and passed a course, and passed the statewide exam. I also maintain my recertification credits every two years to ensure that I am up to date on the current regulations.

YEARLY INSPECTION

It is recommended to have your backflow inspected and tested annually. Some cities require annual testing. I typically test in the Spring to ensure that your backflow is working properly as soon as you supply water to the sprinkler system. If you need a backflow test done, I can typically facilitate this within a couple of days to a week!
